chemo number 5

Hmmm let me start with the fact that this treatment was a day late. Went in yesterday, saw Dr Mullins and we discussed my latest concern of that rude bunch of cells hiding in the vaginal cuff that went rogue and are cancerous! I am praying with everything in me that she is correct and there is no metastatic cancer elsewhere. That will be determined by the CT scans on Thursday. Almost forgot, before I saw the doctor I had to have labs drawn by the nurse. My port was being temperamental and wasn’t giving up on enough blood, ended up having to lie down and it took 2 nurses to get the blood out of my port. That should have forewarned me of things to come. At this point it was after 10 AM. Walked over to the infusion area. Was informed that the lab computers were being temperamental as well. Was supposed to be up and running in about 30 minutes. That stretched out to 2 hours. At that point I was given the option to come in Tuesday at 8 AM. My treatment lasts approximately 7 hours. So fast forward it is Tuesday morning. Everything went off without concern and we were on our way home by 3:30. The best part of this 2 day tour remains my family and friends. The incredible prayer, positive vibes and kind words has been phenomenal. Those that know me well are aware that I am NOT the easiest person to hang out with. These kind souls are amazing. They continue to tote my chemo bag, cooling cap bag, and cooler each time I go. They drive me, set me up, and just take care of me in general. The positivity from everyone wraps around me like the best hug imaginable. Walk in faith, believe in the impossible, and fight with everything I have in me. That’s what I chose today!
