chemo treatment 4

My awesome husband Jon, drives me, Miss Tina to LMH to start this day. Before this infusion I see Dr. Mullins. I have had some chemo side effects that have warranted a change to chemo drug dosage. That takes effect today. Next up is the usual start in the infusion department. My daughter, Lacey, does the prep for the cooling cap and applies it. There is a glitch with the cooling machine and it won’t start. While the nurse is calling the Paxman company, Lacey gets it started! Yay! The pre-med drug cocktail is started, followed by the Keytruda. Before the first chemo med is given, Lacey applies the next part of my lovely chemo ensemble, the cooling gloves and socks. The gloves are the most difficult part. My hands are soooo sensitive to the cold. I do my best to leave them on as long as possible. Lacey is very patient with me and takes them off and reapplies whenever I ask. But she leaves for a her boys transport. Lucky for me, my other daughter,Christina, is here as well. Thank goodness !!! The first chemo med is a long 3 hour process. Christina removes the socks and gloves after this med is completed. The second chemo med is given, after this med, the cooling cap has to remain on for 90 minutes. Whew, after this 9-5 treatment day I feel completely exhausted. I still have my taste today and am so happy that my son, Ian, brought us Chick-Fil-A for dinner. My Florida son, Lincoln, called to check on me. No matter what I go through, I have an awesome family! I have other family and friends that are sending prayers and good vibes. I am BLESSED!!!!
