Second round began with the usual weigh in and lab work. Pre meds were given, then cool cap was set up. It’s a good thing my daughter, Lacey, was here to help with that set up. When I tried it by myself, it was like putting on a wig without hair and without a mirror (and a little funny disclaimer, after the pre meds you just might me a little too chill). You have to make sure it’s straight, in the right position, and secure. So again, have another person with you for the win. Keytruda was up next. Lacey, with Ian assist this time, applied the cooling socks and hand covers to help keep foot and hand neuropathy away. Taxol, the med that could potentially cause neuropathy, was started and ran for 3 hours. Last med infusion was the Carboplatin. In the home stretch and the last thing is a wait of 90 minutes for the cool cap to finish up its thing. Finally the infusion day comes to a close at 4:45 PM.
I am feeling blessed to have wonderful people caring, praying, and sending me good vibes through these hard days. No picture of him this time, but my hubby, Jon, was there doing anything I needed. I couldn’t do it without them. A few pictures that helped make my day brighter.
