On November 17th, 2025 I had an episode that sent me to the emergency room. The exam prompted an appointment with a gynecologist. Next up was a biopsy on December 8th. That biopsy showed a malignancy, endometrial cancer. I had heard similar words before. Eight years before I was diagnosed with stage 3b breast cancer. That started the whirlwind of surgeries, chemo and radiation. Now i was hearing it again! No matter how you try to prepare yourself to hear those words, it still hits you like a punch in your stomach. This time the diagnosis is a little more gentle than the previous one. I had surgery that took out the tumor and the one lymph node that had a microcell of cancer. This time the chemo is going to be preventative. But it will still be chemo and even though it’s been 8 years, the memories of all of the treatments came flooding back. I am currently awaiting the date I will have an access port placed for chemo infusion.
